Friends Of Sherbrooke Forest

The Friends of Sherbrooke Forest is a volunteer group that works in the forest to remove weeds and improve habitat. The Friends of Sherbrooke Forest Inc. was formed in 1980, and have been making a huge difference in the improvement of the forest ever since. They meet almost six times each month and attack the weeds in the forest. There are several gullies in the forest that were invaded by black-berry and cestrum and over the past 25 years have been restored. There are now Powerful Owls, Sooty Owls and Lyrebirds nesting in these areas. The group also run a Water Watch program in several creek sites in the forest. The members Lyrebird Survey Group and the Friends often help eachother out and work together to improve the habitat for the birds, animals and plants.
